London- and New York-based Roast Beef Productions is partnering with Oscar-nominated director Alexander Nanau (Collective) on the documentary Klarsfeld, set to launch at the end of this year.
For more than 50 years, Beate and Serge Klarsfeld (pictured) have hunted and confronted Nazi war criminals, tracking them down in places as far-flung as South America and the Middle East.
Now in their 80s, the husband and wife continue their activism against today’s Nazis and far-right extremists.
The 90-minute film will weave their past and present day story with personal testimonies from politicians, Holocaust survivors, fellow activists, friends and family members.
Klarsfeld will also tell the story of the love affair between Beate and Serge.
Fremantle is handling international sales.
Roast Beef Productions is behind such films as The Kleptocrats, The Russian Woodpecker, Born to be Free and The Departure.
