E!, part of the NBCUniversal Television and Streaming portfolio, has announced the roll-out of a new music competition series called Clash of the Cover Bands.
The series is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio (a division of Universal Studio Group) and Electric Hot Dog. It will be executive produced by late-night host and Electric Hot Dog founder Jimmy Fallon. No date has been set for the 2021 premiere.
Clash of the Cover Bands sees two bands of a similar genre go head-to-head each episode, with the winner being decided by both their skill and level of performance.
Dancer, actor, producer and DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Stephen “tWitch” Boss serves as host. Boss was also the 2008 runner-up on the American series of So You Think You Can Dance, so he has first-hand experience in the factual realm.
Celebrity judges include global powerhouse Meghan Trainor (The Voice ), Queen lead singer Adam Lambert (American Idol) and successful songwriter Ester Dean, whose credits include work for Katy Perry, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Britney Spears.
