Taking on the urban wildlife survival story of three otter families vying for dominance in Singapore’s Marina Bay, Otter Dynasty is a new series set to air next year.

The 6×60′ series was produced by Beach House Pictures (a Blue Ant Studios company), in association with Love Nature and Animal Planet. The 4K production will roll out on Love Nature in November 2022.

Blue Ant International will oversee licensing in markets outside of the US.

Otters, which were once declared locally extinct in Singapore in the 1970s, have made a comeback, with 120 otters now vying for survival in the city’s Marina Bay. Problem is, there’s only enough space for one dominant family to have access to the finest food, best shelter and safest location to raise a family.

Otter Dynasty is special because it combines true natural history filmmaking with dramatic story-telling complete with a distinct cast of animal characters bringing tales of battle, romance and survival that will leave audiences in hot anticipation for each episode,” said Carlyn Staudt, Global General Manager, Love Nature.

“Beach House Pictures was able to create a universally compelling story about these resilient animals in Singapore, while also lifting a curtain on their real animal emotions and relationships.”

Jocelyn Little and Donovan Chan are executive producers for Beach House Pictures. Jerry Decker is showrunner and Claire Clements is series director. James Manfull is executive producer on behalf of Love Nature. For Discovery, Keith Hoffman is executive producer and Sarah Russell is supervising producer.
