Florence Nightingale docudrama to be distributed by ZED
Indie producer-distributor ZED announced a new docudrama that will showcase the crucial role nurses play on the frontlines of a pandemic, a topic that has been on the minds of much of the world for the past year.
Florence Nightingale: Nursing Pioneer (pictured) is a two-hour docudrama produced by Tohubohu for ARTE France, directed by Aurine Crémieu. The biopic looks back at Nightingale’s story and follow her footsteps as a pioneer in modern nursing, establishing the first secular nursing school in the 1800s.
The film will use archived material, testimonies and reenactments to examine Nightingale’s legacy including revolutionary views she developers on hygiene and sanitation during the Crimean War, to the school she founded and changes she made in health care.
The film is set to be delivered by the end of the year, and ZED said it’s currently available for presales.
