Social media personality Bailey Sarian, whose YouTube channel — home of her series Murder Mystery & Makeup — has 4.77 million subscribers, is partnering with Wheelhouse DNA for the original podcast Dark History.
Through the deal, Wheelhouse DNA, the digital media arm of Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse, will produce (with Sarian) Murder Mystery & Makeup, as well as the video version of Dark History.
The series will premiere June 3, while the Dark History podcast premieres June 2 on Audiobloom.
On her YouTube channel, Sarian tells true stories of crime and investigation while applying her own makeup.
The Dark History podcast will see Sarian delve into stories from U.S. and world history such the DuPont Chemical scandal, the Armenian Genocide, Juneteenth, birth control trials in Puerto Rico and the Zoot Suit Riots.
Wheelhouse chief strategy officer Simpson, who oversees DNA, said in a statement: “Wheelhouse is built on forging the most meaningful relationships with top-tier talent, like Kevin Hart and Adam Levine, and now with breakthrough Gen Z, influencer-driven talent like the amazing Bailey, who are defining the next wave in entertainment. Bailey Sarian is an innovator whose audience sees her depth and uniqueness, and we’re thrilled to be in business with her.”
Wheelhouse DNA recently signed a deal with hip hop superstar 24kGoldn to manage the rapper’s YouTube channel and exclusively create its content.
The division has also secured partnerships with social media influencer Nikita Dragun for management and content creation on Dragun’s YouTube channel, the TikTok collective Hype House for a Netflix series and paranormal podcast Internet Urban Legends.
