CNBC has added the Jupiter Entertainment-produced series Super Heists to its summer lineup.
The six-episode series opens the case files of different thieves, examining their crimes from two points of view: the thieves themselves and the investigators who doggedly pursued them.
Each story — from the second largest bank heist in American history (“The Loomis Depot Heist”) to an art heist where Picasso masterpieces disappeared in plain sight (“The Mark Lugo Affair”) — reveals the single fatal flaw that broke the case.
Patrick Reardon, Todd Moss and Erich Sturm serve as executive producers for Sky Studios-backed Jupiter Entertainment. Mike Riley is the EP for CNBC.
Super Heists premieres Aug. 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
“Money is the central character in all of our storytelling,” said Denise Contis, EVP and head of content, CNBC Primetime. “Super Heists offers a fresh take on the true crime genre and illustrates our continuing commitment to high quality programming.”
Jupiter Entertainment recently appointed Lauren Gerber as director of development and signed development deals with producers Ben Pagel and Michael Lappin.
