Believe Entertainment Group and former NFL running back Reggie Bush are partnering on an upcoming documentary where the football star will, for the first time, tell his side of the story about one of college football’s most infamous scandals.

Kirk Fraser, who helmed ESPN’s ’30 for 30′ feature Without Bias, is set to direct the story about Bush (pictured), who is considered by many to be one of the greatest running backs in college football history. Bush led USC to multiple national championships, set rushing and scoring records and won the 2005 Heisman Trophy as college football’s most outstanding player.

But Bush and his family were later accused of breaking NCAA regulations that resulted in massive sanctions for USC’s entire football program, the removal of all his records and the forfeiting of his Heisman Trophy.

“After all these years I’m finally ready to tell my story, I hope this can help drive change with the next generation of student athletes,” Bush said in a release. “We’re making some progress, but there’s still a long way to go.”

Bush is an executive producer on the project alongside William H. Masterson III, co-founder of Believe Entertainment Group. Dan Goodman, Brian Hunt and Denise White from Believe will also serve as executive producers.

“We have been in conversation with Reggie for more than a year, developing this documentary based on what we’ve learned about his story, and all of the underlying details,” Masterson said, in a release. “There is so much more to explore, and we all believe this documentary is going to resonate in a major way with young athletes and a very wide-reaching audience of both sports and non-sport fans.”

Believe Entertainment Group is the studio behind the animated short film Dear Basketball from Kobe Bryant, which won an Academy and Emmy Award.
