Remarkable TV, a Banijay UK label, has appointed Matthew Winter as its head of development for factual programming.

Winter’s (pictured) position will require him to drive forward a new factual development strategy for Remarkable, building on the company’s existing programming.

Prior to joining Remarkable, Winter was development executive at Optomen, where he was responsible for co-creating Sort Your Life Out for BBC1 and the upcoming C4 series Highlife. He also helped secure Optomen’s first commission for American cable network HGTV.

Winter also worked previously at Boomerang, Lime Pictures and ITV Studios Australia.

“Matthew is a talented and creative television executive who brings a wealth of experience with him,” said Kitty Walshe, managing director at Remarkable TV, in a news release.

“We’re thrilled to have him on the team to help lead the charge on our factual slate. He joins at an exciting time for our factual team as we continue our drive to innovate with shows like Your Home Made Perfect for BBC2 and Virtually History for YouTube. He’s a great addition to the team and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Winter will begin working with Remarkable TV immediately, reporting to Walshe, who heads Remarkable’s factual team.
