California-based prodco Jeff Jenkins Productions, part of 3BMG and the producer of Netflix’s Bling Empire and My Unorthodox Life, has hired veteran producer, showrunner and development executive Russell Jay-Staglik (pictured) as its new senior vice president of development and current programming.
He joins JJP from Bunim/Murray Productions, where he was vice president of current and development. In his new role, he’ll report to JJP founder and president Jeff Jenkins. The hiring is a reunion of sorts, as Jay-Staglik and Jenkins were previously colleagues at Bunim/Murray, where Jenkins was co-president before leaving to create JJP.
Jay-Staglik brings more than 20 years of experience in the unscripted space, with a track record of celebrity-focused series. He oversaw the development and production of E!’s Total Divas, then developed and sold the spinoffs Total Bellas (E!) and Miz and Mrs. (USA). He’s also developed Facebook Watch’s recent series House of Creators, and served as a producer and showrunner on The Challenge (MTV), Keeping Up With the Kardashians and its spinoffs Kourtney and Kim Take New York and Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami (E!), as well as Mariah’s World (E!) and The Simple Life (Fox).
“Having worked with Russell for many years, I’m well aware of the immense value he adds at every stage of development and production,” said Jenkins in a release. “I’m delighted to welcome him to JJP at such an exciting time for our company, and we’re ecstatic to pull him into the assortment of series we already have on deck, while digging into new projects together.”
