Documentary streaming service MagellanTV will debut Mars Calling, an original documentary feature about the prospect of humans visiting and settling Mars, later this month.
The documentary will have its world premiere on Aug. 19, and will chronicle the progress humans have made up to this point in researching Mars, and the ongoing discoveries about our neighboring planet. Mars Calling includes both the expectations and enthusiasm around the visions humans hold of populating the Red Planet, along with the reality of its hostile environment.
The film is directed and written by David Sky Brody (Kingdom of Saturn: Cassini’s Epic Quest), and features historic theories from early astronomers like Galileo and Aristotle. Mars Calling also includes new evidence discovered by NASA and the international space community, spotlighting how our understanding of the planet has evolved.
MagellanTV co-founder Thomas Lucas executive produced the film, and Matt Baker provides narration. Magellan will make the documentary available to non-subscribers for free during the first week of its release.
