BBC Daytime, Rare TV prep true crime series
Belfast-based Rare TV is producing the 15-part BBC Daytime series Expert Witness for BBC1, presented by Ashley John Baptiste.
Set to premiere this fall, Expert Witness (pictured) will examine how expert witnesses helped solve some of the UK’s most complex major crime cases.
Each episode features a different case and will hear from those involved in solving them.
Richard Weller is series producer, with Emma Barker and Edward Hart as executive producers. The commissioning editor for BBC Daytime is Julie Shaw.
Hollywood Suite to premiere Kevin Porter docuseries
Canadian specialty channel group Hollywood Suite will premiere the original docuseries Relentless: The Kevin Porter Story this September.
In the four-part series, filmmaker Ryan Mains follows Ontario-based paramedic and firefighter Kevin Porter for over five years as he pursues his lifelong dream of playing professional hockey in his 40s.
Featuring interviews with former professional hockey players Jim Thomson, Frank Littlejohn and David Ling, the series promises to provide a glimpse into what it takes to make it as a pro hockey player.
Relentless: The Kevin Porter Story will air with two back-to-back episodes on Sept. 21 beginning at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the final two episodes on Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. ET.
The whole series will be available on Hollywood Suite On Demand starting Sep. 1.
Relentless: The Kevin Porter Story was produced and directed by Ryan Mains, who also served as director of photography and co-wrote the series with Derek Raby. It was executive produced by David Kines and Julie Kumaria.
