Netflix has reportedly fortified its documentary team in the UK with two significant hires.
Adam Hawkins, most recently U.S. creative director at Raw and an EP on acclaimed projects from the UK prodco like Three Identical Strangers and Don’t F**k with Cats: Hunting an internet Killer, is joining the streamer’s UK team later this year to head up its doc series efforts. He will report to LA-based director of documentary series, Gabe Spitzer.
Also joining the department is Nelesh Dhand, most recently a creative director at Pulse Films, where he supervised the creation and development of new non-fiction content, with credits including Inside Missguided and Hair Power: Me and My Afro. Dhand will serve as manager, documentary series.
The hires are the latest in the expansion of Netflix’s UK documentary and unscripted team, which encompasses series and docs. Past hires from the UK production pool include Daisy Lilley, who joined Netflix’s unscripted team in May of 2020 after a stint at Expectation as creative director.
