Sports media and entertainment company, Team Whistle is beginning production on the series Double Duty, with creative studio Follow Through.
The docuseries covers the journeys of athletes in parenthood, and the difficulties of balancing athletic careers with responsibilities as parents. The series follows the lives of top athletes with children, taking viewers into athletes’ homes, gyms, classrooms and businesses.
Athletes featured in the series include retired NFL players Greg Olsen and Chris Harris Jr., NBA player JaVale McGee (pictured), MMA fighter Cat Zingano and soccer player Jess McDonald. The series is scheduled to premiere in the fall on Whistle TV.
“My father played a dual role in my life as coach and dad, and he always instilled in me the importance of prioritizing family,” Olsen said in a statement.
“I’ve taken that to heart as one of my greatest joys is coaching my sons in baseball. My family has experienced both challenging and beautiful times, and I look forward to showing an honest look at our lives as my wife and I work to pass the baton to our children.”
Noah Weissman from Team Whistle and CJ Toledano from Follow Through will serve as executive producers on the series.
