Bunim/Murray Productions and Kreativ Inc. are teaming with Reddit and Adobe to launch an original five-day “competition and comedy” event, Photoshop Battles Live.
The event marks the 10th anniversary of the Reddit r/photoshopbattles community, which has brought together more than 17 million Photoshop users to show off their creativity and connect with like-minded individuals.
The PsBattles Live community is powered by Reddit, and the PsBattles Live show is sponsored by Adobe, created and produced by digital prodco Shareability and TV producer Bunim/Murray Productions (Keeping Up with the Kardashians). Kreativ’s Joel Karsberg and Jesse Daniels serve as executive producers.
Described as part competition and part live comedy show, PsBattles Live launches on Monday (October 18) and brings together notable names to host daily photo-editing battles open to all Reddit users.
The daily hour-long recap shows will be hosted by comedian Patti Harrison (pictured), one of Variety‘s “10 Comics to Watch.” She’ll be joined by a roster of comedians and celebrities including Kate Flannery, Maz Jobrani, Trixie Mattel, Kal Penn, Kel Mitchell, Esther Povitsky, Michael Ian Black and DJ Douggpound (Doug Lussenhop), as well as Reddit star Therapy Gecko (Lyle Drescher).
“Reddit users contribute more than 110k original artworks on the platform every month and r/photoshop battles is one of our most vibrant examples of a community coming together to create and collaborate over a shared passion, which is what our platform is all about,” said Roxy Young, Reddit’s chief marketing officer, in a statement. “PsBattles Live is not only a celebration of one of our most beloved Reddit communities, it is the latest immersive experience from our longstanding partners at Adobe, and I am so excited to watch the production come to life over what will no doubt be five days of laughter, creativity, and good-hearted competition.”
