An upcoming Channel 4 series is set to delve into the reselling business in Bidding Wars.

The 15-part daytime series is produced by Leeds-based Daisybeck Studios and Motion Content Group. The series follows re-sellers from across Britain as they try to generate a profit from their blind purchases through online second-hand sites, car boot sales and specialist dealers.

Reselling has become a booming business with entrepreneurial re-sellers buying unchecked bulk selections of returned consumer items, to turn over into a profit. From a development perspective, it’s a space that runs adjacent to such recent U.S. unscripted successes as Storage Wars.

The series is presented by Kevin Duala, who shows viewers how high re-sellers are willing to bid at auctions to secure pallets they want to sell, while still unaware of exactly what they’re getting before the pallets are unboxed. Cameras follow re-sellers as they try to make as much money as they can from their blind purchases.

Bidding Wars is set to be an intriguing and entertaining watch as viewers will get to see what happens to all those online orders once they’ve been returned,” said Jayne Stanger, Channel 4 commissioning editor of daytime & features via a release.

The 15 x 30-minute series was commissioned by Stanger. Executive producers for Daisybeck Studios are Paul Stead and Matt Walton, with Melanie Darlaston executive producing for Motion Content Group.
