Discovery+ has announced a new food series, Foodgod, built around the social media influencer of the same name who has racked up 11 million followers for his celebrations of food and culinary culture online.
The four-episode series is produced by Citizen Pictures and will hit Discovery+ on November 14. The show follows Foodgod (a.k.a. Jonathan Cheban, pictured) as he takes viewers to exclusive restaurants to sample some of the most exotic dishes in Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas and Miami. Each episode will see him accompanied by various celebrity friends, including Kris Jenner, who executive produces the show, and her daughter, Kim Kardashian West.
The TV personality and social media star boasts an Instagram following of millions that track his international culinary adventures. Known for his recurring roles on TV series such as Keeping Up With the Kardashians, The Dr. Oz Show and Celebrity Big Brother, Foodgod has been named the 2021 “Food Influencer Of The Year” (Monaco) and also “Most Influential Name in Food” by Food & Beverage Magazine.
“Foodgod is the ultimate celebrator of the creativity of food, seeking out the most visually spectacular dishes in the world and sharing them with his massive social following,” said Courtney White, president, Food Network and streaming food content for Discovery in a statement. “Foodgod brings his love and celebration for innovation to Discovery+ and we are excited to bring his passion for food and his millions of fans to the series.”
“I eat out 365 days a year, constantly looking for the coolest, newest and the most original places and dishes,” Foodgod added. “The show adds a whole new dimension to my favorite pastime: finding the hidden gems of the food world and letting everyone else in on them.”
