Los Angeles-headquartered Jesse Collins Entertainment (JCE) has appointed Madison Merritt, most recently EVP of unscripted development at eOne, as its EVP of unscripted content and alternative programming.
Merritt joined Toronto-headquartered eOne in 2018, working out of its Los Angeles office. While there, she grew the company’s unscripted slate to develop and produce projects for Amazon, Discovery+. Hulu, Facebook, Peacock, TLC and VH1 among others.
Before eOne, Merritt presided over her own prodco, Mad Ave Entertainment, where, in a five-year period, she developed and sold series to TLC, UP TV, VH1 and HGTV, and expanded the HGTV franchise Flip or Flop to Nashville through an overall deal with Asylum Entertainment.
Prior to this, Merritt was SVP of series and development at New York-based prodco Ish Entertainment, overseeing West Coast development and serving as part of the team behind such projects as Oxygen’s All About Aubrey and Girlfriend Confidential: LA; WeTV’s Fix My Family; Style’s Empire Girls; and MTV’s T.I.’s Road to Redemption and 50 Cent: The Money and the Power.
“I could not be more excited to welcome Madison to JCE,” said CEO Jesse Collins in a statement. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to our team and is the ideal leader to take on this critical role. As a content creator, she has proven that she can identify trends, keep JCE ahead of the curve and help elevate and expand our unscripted programming.”
Jesse Collins Entertainment’s unscripted portfolio includes such series as Cardi B Tries… for Facebook Watch, MTV2′s Hip Hop Squares and Rhythm + Flow (produced with Gaspin Media and Get Lifted Film Company).
