HGTV kicks off a Flipping Showdown

HGTV is set to launch a new six-part competition series called Flipping Showdown featuring Ken and Anita Corsini, owners of Red Barn Homes in Atlanta.

The couple, who first rose to fame as stars of HGTV’s Flip or Flop Atlanta, will judge the work of three teams as they renovate three properties each within a set time and budget. The guest renovators and flippers will each get $100,000 cash and compete for the chance to start and grow their own real estate/flipping franchise.

Flipping Showdown is produced by Fly on the Wall Entertainment and is set to kick off November 17. New episodes will be available same day on discovery+, starting with the premiere. The executive producers on the series from Fly on the Wall are Rich Meehan, Allison Grodner and Ben Hatta.

Chef Michael Symon set to launch Throwdown on Food Network

Iron Chef, restaurateur and best-selling author Michael Symon is launching a new competition series on Food Network called Throwdown with Michael Symon. The new effort is set to premiere December 7.

The premise? Symon will take on another chef’s signature dish, challenging them to a cook-off based on the creation they’re known for most. A pair of guest judges decide the winner in a blind taste test.

Guests chefs include Matt Abdoo from Pig Beach, Ricky and Maria of New York’s Tzarevna, the Sussman brothers of Samesa, and Bessou’s Maiko and Emily.

Symon will also roll out online content for the holiday season, sharing his fast fixes and signature spins in fresh recipes and talent takeovers.

Throwdown with Michael Symon is produced by Rock Shrimp Productions.
“As a chef, I love being creative and thinking outside the box to come up with new ways of connecting with viewers through my dishes,” says Symon. “On Throwdown, we get to showcase some of America’s greatest chefs and restaurateurs while also getting the opportunity to flex my competitive side, too.”
