Discovery has announced an exclusive new special on the rise and capture of Tse Chi Lop, the alleged architect behind the largest drug trafficking operation in history.

The World’s Biggest Druglord – Tse Chi Lop, is set to premiere globally on Nov. 14 on Discovery+, as well as on Discovery’s linear channels across the Asia Pacific region. Tse Chi Lop was arrested in Amsterdam in January of this year, in a collaborative effort of more than 20 countries and organizations, including Interpol and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, via a sting led by the Australian Federal Police.

The documentary special is produced by IFA Media and Discovery, Inc. Dean Johnson and Mike Welsh are executive producers for IFA Media, while Lynn Ng serves as executive producer for Discovery. Ishaan Misra is the special’s supervising producer. The special will be broadcast on Discovery Channel in South East Asia, Taiwan and Japan on Nov. 14, Discovery Channel in Australia on Nov. 15 and on Three in New Zealand on Nov. 16.

The special features commentary from the FBI, DEA and AFP, as well as dramatic recreations (pictured). The special examines how Tse Chi Lop allegedly orchestrated a US$60 billion global drug business while remaining virtually unknown, and also delves into his business insights and entrepreneurial strategies.

“Telling local stories from Asia Pacific continues to be at the forefront of our commissioning, and this special is the latest in a growing slate of Originals that will air globally across Discovery’s platforms,” said Ng, head of content, APAC with Discovery, Inc., in a statement.
