Disney+ has slated its new Will Smith adventure travel series with National Geographic, Welcome to Earth, for a December premiere on the streaming service.
The six-part documentary series is part of National Geographic’s five-year, first-look unscripted deal with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s Westbrook Studios. The show is produced by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Darren Aronofsky and his Protozoa Pictures banner, along with Jane Root‘s Nutopia and Westbrook Studios.
Welcome to Earth follows Smith as he travels around the globe to explore Earth’s greatest wonders with the help of elite explorers. The superstar actor will venture to some of the planet’s most thrilling spectacles, from silent volcanoes to moving deserts to to animal swarms with minds of their own. The series promises to combine amazing cinematography with Smith’s curiosity and enthusiasm.
