In London, the Royal Television Society (RTS) has announced its shortlist of nominations for its 2021 Craft & Design Awards. The winners will be revealed Monday, November 22 in an event at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
The awards, which are sponsored by Apple TV+, celebrate excellence across 29 competitive categories in documentary and fiction, and aim to recognize the huge variety of skills that are involved in making programs.
When it comes to celebrating directors in the factual arena, RTS has put forward three names: Deeyah Khan (America’s War on Abortion); Benedict Sanderson (The Detectives: Fighting Organised Crime); and Adam Wishart (9/11: Inside the President’s War Room).
In the category of factual editing, the finalists are: Sam Bergson, Brad Manning and Otto Burnham (The Detectives: Fighting Organised Crime); Eddie Haselden (Doctors of War: Saving Lives); and Brett Irwin and Esther Gimenez (Uprising).
For non-fiction photography, the nominees are: The Camera Team (The Year Earth Changed); Mark Davey (ITV News at Ten); and Daniel Dewsbury and Patrick Smith (Ian Wright: Home Truths).
