Realscreen is partnering with filmmaker and executive producer Chuck Braverman and his Westdoc Online video series to bring his interviews with acclaimed documentarians and non-fiction content industry figures to its readership.
In Westdoc Online’s newest episode, Braverman interviews Igal Svet, the VP of documentaries at Discovery+. Braverman digs into the streaming platform’s upcoming slate of documentaries, its strategy when it comes to acquiring and commissioning documentaries, and the wide variety of unscripted and non-fiction titles that Discovery+ is acquiring, from Introducing, Selma Blair to Set!
In his tenure at Discovery+ so far, Svet has helped acquire films such as Rebel Hearts, Groomed, Francesco, Miracle Fishing: Kidnapped Abroad and Citizen Penn. He was also involved in developing two Discovery+ original documentaries: Attack of the Murder Hornets and Expedition: Back to the Future.
Before working in his current role, Svet served as vice president of production and development for documentaries and specials at Discovery Inc, and before coming to Discovery, he worked as senior director of development at the National Geographic Channel.
