BritBox UK has lifted the curtain on a three-part original factual commission digging into real-world spies.

Secrets of the Spies, which will be made available exclusively to subscribers in March 2022, explores the world and history of espionage, both in fact and fiction, covering topics such as Cold War defections, covert assassinations, as well as sophisticated cyber attacks. Both recent cases and current methods, as well as historical stories, will be covered.

The series will include interviews with former spies and their family members, police officers, forensic experts, historians, authors and more.

The docuseries is from ITN Productions, which recently also made Secrets of the Krays and Feel the Noise: The Music that Shaped Britain for BritBox UK, a digital video subscription service created by the BBC and ITV. George Waldrum and Ian Rumsey will serve as executive producers
