Food Network has signed Emmy-winning host and bestselling author Giada De Laurentiis to a new exclusive deal.
The agreement, announced by Courtney White, president of Food Network and streaming food content for Discovery, will see De Laurentiis continue to produce and host projects for both the linear network and the Discovery+ streaming service, including her upcoming series, Simply Giada, which premieres on January 9 on Food Network.
The announcement comes a few weeks after Food Network similarly locked down Bobby Flay, another of its big stars, after months of speculation about his status with the network.
De Laurentiis most recently co-starred with Flay in the Discovery+ food-travel series Bobby and Giada in Italy, which debuted when the streaming service launched this past January.
The wellness-focused daytime series Simply Giada is produced by Linguine Pictures. It was inspired by De Laurentiis’ recent cookbook, and each episode will find the host sharing recipes for eating better every day.
“Giada De Laurentiis is a culinary icon, who has taught audiences how to prepare as well as properly pronounce every classic pasta dish as no one else could, and we are so excited that this creative star, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, wants to continue to call Food Network her home,” said White in a statement. “Simply Giada is the perfect jump start to the new year, with accessible and easy-to-do dishes that feature all the quintessential Giada trademarks — delicious recipes mixed with personable charm.”
