Banijay Benelux has announced the appointment of Justine Huffmeijer to the position of managing director of SimpelZodiak.

Huffmeijer (pictured) will take over the role on Feb. 1, 2022, reporting directly to company CEO Peter Lubbers. She takes over for Laurens Woldberg, who is exiting the company to work as a creative producer at Dutch broadcaster KRO-NCRV.

Huffmeijer will lead all business operations for SimpelZodiak and oversee its portfolio, which includes the brands Hunted¬†and Temptation Island. She will lead the team and take responsibility for the label’s pipeline for linear broadcasters and streaming platforms. She’ll also be tasked with expanding the slate for both the local and international markets. Huffmeijer will also join the Banijay Benelux management board.

“Justine is well-known for her entrepreneurial creative character and enthusiasm for the media industry. She has built a versatile career and is already familiar with the beautiful brands of SimpelZodiak from previous roles,” said Lubbers in a statement.

Oxygen rings in the new year with launch of New York Homicide

New York Homicide, a new true crime series exploring some of the city’s biggest recent murder cases, will premiere on January 1 on Oxygen.

The 12-episode series examines crimes in New York City and work by law enforcement, as well as civilians trying to take murderers off the streets.

The show features exclusive access to former and current detectives who will help guide viewers through the details of their most complex cases in each self-contained episode. The cases examined in the series range from a missing orchestra violinist to a Voodoo-linked murder in the city’s Haitian community.

New York Homicide is produced by ITV America’s Good Caper Content. Jordana Hochman, Brian DeCubellis, Kathryn Vaughan, Diane Warshay and Michele Warshay all serve as executive producers.
