California-headquartered producer/distributor GRB Studios has sold The Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek, a docuseries from The Nacelle Company for A+E’s History Channel, to multiple international broadcasters, in addition to other projects.
The behind-the-scenes look at the iconic sci-fi series has been licensed to RTL Netherlands, SevenOne Germany, Foxtel in Australia and New Zealand, and Bell Media in Canada for English and French regions.
Other unscripted and non-fiction sales for the distributor include Death Walker with Nick Groff, for which Canada’s Bell Media licensed both seasons for CTV Sci-Fi and Discovery Europe acquired the second season for the UK. Bell Media also licensed Living By Design for CTV Life.
Australia’s Foxtel, meanwhile, has picked up the feature documentary, Meet The Hitlers. CBS Reality has taken the first two seasons of Confessions: Animal Hoarding for most European territories, and docuseries Turquoise Fever for African countries.
Also, global streaming platform WaterBear has picked up The New Normal, a documentary that follows the aftermath of a mass school shooting. And Wicked Vision Distribution obtained the home video rights for The Ultimate Stuntman – A Tribute to Dar Robinson in Germany.
“We are in constant pursuit of new acquisitions with global appeal, and we are always eager to review new programs to meet our buyers’ needs,” said Hud Woodle, executive vice president of international sales & operations at GRB Studios, in a statement.
