CNN announced today that celebrity cook, author and YouTube personality Alison Roman will host a new cooking show for its streaming service CNN+.

The series is scheduled to launch in spring 2022. Roman will co-produce with Lydia Tenaglia and Christopher Collins of Zero Point Zero Production, with Amy Entelis and Lyle Gamm serving as executive producers for CNN Original Series.

“Alison’s unique style and tone make her a perfect addition to our CNN + line-up,” Entelis said in a news release.

Following stints as a pastry chef at top-flight restaurants like San Francisco’s Quince and NYC’s Momofuku Milk Bar, Roman launched a media career as an editor of Bon Appétit Magazine and a food columnist for the New York Times. She is the author of the books Dining In and the NYT best seller Nothing Fancy, and hosts the popular cooking series, Home Movies, on her YouTube channel.

“I’ve been dreaming about bringing a new sort of cooking and food show to life for years and I can’t think of any place better to make it a reality,” Roman said in a statement on the partnership.

Roman’s as-yet-untitled series is the latest project to be announced for the upcoming streaming service, which CNN has been gradually rolling out more details of in the last few months, following the initial announcement of the new venture in summer 2021.

Other confirmed series include the six-part travel and culture series Searching for Mexico, starring Eva Longoria; Parental Guidance, a parenting series hosted by Anderson Cooper, whose twice-weekly digital show Anderson Cooper Full Circle will also shift over to the streamer; a news program featuring former Fox News anchor Chris Wallace; and a business and tech show hosted by Scott Galloway, NYT best-selling author and host of the Prof G and Pivot podcasts.
