The Sundance Institute has unveiled the members of the six juries for the competitions at its 2022 film festival.

The festival will run from Jan. 20 to 30 through its enhanced online platform, and in person at seven satellite screen venues around the U.S. during the festival’s second weekend. Festival audiences will vote on the 2022 Audience Awards for films in the U.S., World and NEXT competitions. Award-winning films will be available for an extended-run viewing on the closing weekend.

The 2022 Sundance jury for the U.S. Documentary Competition includes filmmaker Garrett Bradley (Time), who won the 2020 U.S. Documentary Competition directing award for her debut feature film; BAFTA and IDA award-winning director/cinematographer Joan Churchill; and Emmy-winning director Peter Nicks (The Waiting Room, The Force, Homeroom).

The World Cinema Documentary Competition jury consists of Visions du Réel artistic director Emilie Bujès, Center for American Progress president and CEO Patrick Gaspard, and filmmaker Dawn Porter (Rise Again: Tulsa and the Red Summer, The Way I See It).

Director Joey Soloway (Transparent, Afternoon Delight) will act as a juror for the NEXT competition. Meanwhile, Criterion Channel director of programming Penelope Bartlett, filmmaker and artist Kevin Jerome Everson, and director/writer Blackhorse Lowe (Reservation Dogs) will jury the Short Film Program Competition.
