Veteran Latin American TV producer and executive Frank Scheuermann has joined Endemol Shine Boomdog, a division of Banijay Americas, as its new senior vice president and head of unscripted.
The announcement was made on Tuesday (January 11) by Alejandro Rincon, Endemol Shine Boomdog’s CEO.
Scheuermann most recently held the position of head of Mexico for Alibi Films, where he oversaw production and served as co-executive producer on such series as Bake Off Mexico for HBO Max, Inseparables for Televisa and Endemol Shine Boomdog’s Quien es la Mascara? for Canal RCN. He also served as head of non-scripted formats for Televisa (Mexico) from 2017 to 2020, where he was the executive in charge for Pequeños Gigantes, La Voz Mexico and Boomdog’s Quién es La Mascara?
Boasting extensive experience in the Colombian marketplace, Scheuermann led Bogotá-based Sony/Teleset’s unscripted team from 2012 to 2016 as head of non-scripted, serving as an executive producer and leading production on series such as Popstars, Factor XF, Colombia’s Got Talent, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and more. He was also head of development and production in Latin America for Keshet International.
“There are not many executives in all of Latin America with as much unscripted TV experience as Frank brings with him to our team here at Boomdog,” said Endemol Shine Boomdog CEO Rincon in a release. “We have a long, successful relationship working with him on many of our top series and we are thrilled that he will be leading our unscripted team as we continue to ramp up our production efforts in the new year.”
Added Scheuermann: “It is wonderful for me to join the world’s largest international producer and distributor at this stage of my career. I’m thrilled to collaborate with this talented, experienced, successful and fun team. I am starting more motivated than ever, with huge goals in front of us.”
