This year’s Producers Guild Awards is the latest in a series of film and TV industry events to be postponed or altered due to COVID-19.

The Producers Guild of America announced on Thursday (Jan. 13) that its 33rd annual awards show, previously scheduled for Feb. 26, will be postponed to March 19 due to the rapid spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

The guild says that it is working with government officials and health experts to implement strict COVID-19 safety protocols for staff and attendees. For now, the guild has said proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster, if eligible, as well as a recent negative COVID-19 test will be required for attendance.

Previously announced dates, including eligibility, voting windows and future nomination announcements, will remain the same, the guild said. The exception is the nominations for the Children’s, Sports, and Short-Form categories, which will now be announced on Jan. 18. The winners will be announced the week of March 15.

More information about the 2022 Producers Guild Awards and nominee events will be announced in the coming weeks, the guild said.

The documentary nominees for the Producers Guild Awards this year include FleeSummer Of Soul (…Or, When The Revolution Could Not Be Televised)AscensionThe Rescue, The First WaveIn the Same BreathSimple as Water and Writing With Fire.
