Caroline Kusser, a veteran distribution executive who has spearheaded copro and sales efforts for Fremantle Media International and Red Arrow International, has joined forces with European content studio Mediawan and Leonine Studios.
Kusser takes on the joint roles of executive vice president for international coproduction and EVP of global sales of Leonine Studios. She will be responsible for television coproduction activities in Europe and internationally, and will oversee the management and coordination of scripted copros within the more than 60 production companies belonging to the content group. She is also now responsible for spearheading Leonine Studios’ global distribution development from the new U.S. offices in Los Angeles.
Prior to this move, Kusser served as executive vice president for coproduction and distribution at Fremantle Media International, and before that, as SVP, North America for Red Arrow International.
Paris-based Mediawan took a minority stake in German content outfit Leonine in June of 2020.
“We are delighted to welcome Caroline to the team,” said Mediawan and Leonine Studios co-CEOs Pierre-Antoine Capton and Fred Kogel in a statement. “She is an expert and she has an excellent network: this is exactly what we needed as part of our strategy of internationalization and growth in the television co-production segment.”
