The Directors Guild of America revealed the nominations in its TV, commercial and documentary categories today.
Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and his debut feature Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) (Searchlight Pictures, Onyx Collective, Hulu) continued racking up award nominations with an inclusion on the DGA’s list.
The other entrants joining Thompson as nominees for the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Documentary award are Jessica Kingdon for Ascension (MTV Documentary Films, Paramount+), Stanley Nelson for Attica (Showtime), Raoul Peck for Exterminate All the Brutes (HBO), and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin for The Rescue (National Geographic).
The DGA also revealed the nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Reality Programs.
