HBO Max will premiere One Perfect Shot, a new docuseries celebrating great filmmaking, on March 24.
The series was created by Academy Award nominee and Emmy winner Ava DuVernay, and was inspired by the popular Twitter account of the same name, which singles out and celebrates individual cinematic moments.
Each half-hour episode of the new series will see an acclaimed director analyze an iconic shot from one of their films by virtually entering the shot and walking through it to show viewers how it was made, while also sharing obstacles, challenges, lessons and triumphs from its creation.
The series will feature directors Patty Jenkins, Aaron Sorkin, Michael Mann, Malcolm D. Lee, Jon M. Chu and Kasi Lemmons discussing films like Wonder Woman, Heat, Crazy Rich Asians, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Girls Trip and Harriet.
Warner Bros. Unscripted Television produced One Perfect Shot in association with Warner Horizon, ARRAY Filmworks and One Perfect Shot. DuVernay is an executive producer on the series, along with Paul Garnes, Bruce Robertson, Neil Miller and Sonia Slutsky.
