ABC has released details about its summer slate of unscripted content, including a premiere date for Generation Gap, a game show first announced in 2019.

Produced by Jimmy Kimmel (pictured) and Mark Burnett and hosted by Kelly Ripa, Generation Gap is a comedy quiz show that pits teams of grandparents and grandkids against each other to answer questions about pop culture from each other’s generations.

The series, which premieres on July 7, is produced by MGM Television, Kimmelot and Milojo. Joining Kimmel and Burnett as executive producers on the series are Ripa, Barry Poznick, Mark Consuelos, Albert Bianchini, Alycia Rossiter and Jonathan Kimmel.

Another competition series on ABC’s summer slate is The Final Straw, premiering on July 10. The show features four teams trying to pull various items, ranging from basketballs to kitchen appliances, from giant stacks without tipping the whole pile over. The last team remaining tests its skill against an even larger stack for a grand prize.

The series is produced by B17 Entertainment, in association with Walt Disney Television’s alternative production unit. Brien Meagher, Rhett Bachner and Sarah Happel Jackson serve as executive producers, with Keith Geller as showrunner and executive producer.

ABC also announced a one-hour unscripted special featuring Martha Stewart, airing on May 25. The Great American Tag Sale with Martha Stewart sees the lifestyle guru discussing her memories of how she acquired various items in her collection, from artwork to knickknacks, while offering advice about planning a successful tag sale and hosting a series of sales events of her own.

The special is produced by Walt Disney Television’s alternative production unit, with Stewart and Jen Patton serving as executive producers.

Following The Great American Tag Sale on May 25 will be The American Rescue Dog Show, a competition in which rescued animals vie for a variety of “best in” titles. The two-hour special was created by Michael Levitt and Jennifer Schulz, who also serve as executive producers alongside Charles Wachter and Jill Goularte.

Finally, ABC has confirmed a July 11 premiere for the previously announced Claim to Fame competition series, hosted by Kevin and Frankie Jonas.
