Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has announced the latest personnel moves in what’s been a spring filled with changes for the newly merged company.

WBD announced on Wednesday (May 11) that Brett Weitz, general manager of cable nets TNT, TBS and TruTV, and Polly Cochrane (pictured), WarnerMedia’s EVP and country manager for the UK and Ireland, are stepping down from their roles.

Weitz was first appointed to his role in January of 2019, and was included as one of the names on Warner Bros. Discovery’s leadership team after the mega-merger between the two companies closed in April. Weitz was previously EVP of programming for TBS, establishing series such as Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. He also previously served as SVP of scripted development for TBS and TNT.

Under Weitz’s oversight, the T-networks launched successful unscripted series including Impractical Jokers, a rebooted Wipeout and Go-Big Show.

Cochrane worked in senior management roles for WarnerMedia for 13 years, and more than three decades in leadership roles in the media and entertainment sector generally. She first joined WarnerMedia in 2009 as SVP of group marketing, where she created the company’s first integrated marketing function and pioneered a life-cycle marketing approach to intellectual property, brands and franchises across films, TV series, games, consumer products and experiences.

In 2014, Cochrane took on responsibility for the global development and management of the Wizarding World franchise. Appointed to the country manager position she’s now stepping down from in 2020, she spent her two years in the role working to integrate the Warner Bros. and Turner businesses in the UK and Ireland.

Warner Bros. Discovery said Cochrane is leaving the company to pursue a portfolio career, which will include coaching and mentoring leaders and emerging talent.

Priya Dogra, president and managing director of Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA, has said she will announce her new management team in due course as WarnerMedia and Discovery continue their integration. Cochrane will remain in her role for an interim period until a new leadership team is announced.
