Amazon Prime Video will exclusively stream the new feature documentary Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby, which just had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival followed by a performance from the rapper.
The film focuses on the artist born Dominique Armani Jones, who rose to fame in hip hop on the strength of his 2017 debut album, which dropped shortly after his release from a prison stint. Untrapped follows his evolution through his subsequent albums and his transformation into a Grammy-winning artist, a devoted father to two young boys and a powerful voice in the fight for racial justice and police reform in America.
“I’m blessed to be able to tell my story and have people care to hear it,” Dominique “Lil Baby” Jones said in a news release. “This film is a real look into my journey, and if it inspires even one person to believe that they can get through hard stuff and dare to follow a dream, then it was worth every penny spent and hour worked. My story is many people’s story, and I’m excited to share it.”
Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby is directed by Karam Gill (Supervillain: The Making of Tekashi 6ix9ine) and produced by Quality Films, MGX Creative and 4PF. Producers include Gill, Dominique “Lil Baby” Jones, Pierre “P” Thomas, Kevin “Coach K” Lee, Daniel Malikyar, Andrew Primavera and Blase Biello.
