L.A.-based prodco Campanario Entertainment, which creates multiplatform scripted and unscripted content highlighting Latino voices, has named veteran producer Tita Lombardo as its head of physical production for Latin America, leading all production operations in the region from her base in Mexico City.

Lombardo (pictured) arrives at Campanario from her own company KMZ Producciones, which she launched in Mexico City 17 years ago. In her more than 40 years in the industry, she has worked alongside a host of internationally acclaimed filmmakers, including Alejandro González Iñárritu, Robert Rodriguez, Walter Salles and Arturo Ripstein.

In her new role, Lombardo will oversee a slate of multiple TV and film projects, and will work closely with Diana Mejia-Jones, Campanario’s VP of Spanish-language content and integrated marketing, to create content for both the domestic and international markets.

“Campanario has a proven track record in developing and launching global streaming hits,” Lombardo said in a statement. “The team’s ability to produce projects across borders and apply both U.S. and Latin American mindsets to the production process fueled my decision to join the company. I am truly excited to help drive the continued growth of audiovisual production and creative talent in Latin America with Campanario Entertainment.”

While Campanario’s primary focus is on scripted — including dramas and comedies made for such major outlets as ABC, Fox, FX, Telemundo, Netflix and Amazon Prime — they have produced such notable unscripted titles as the Bravo docuseries Mexican Dynasties (made in association with Shed Media), which was nominated for a 2020 Realscreen Award, and the immigration documentary Colossus for Fuse.
