Discovery+ has slated the new documentary series Viagra: The Little Blue Pill That Changed the World for an August 12 launch on the streaming platform.

Directed by Brent Hodge (Pharma Bro), the three-part series tells the story of the development of the erectile dysfunction drug and its controversial marketing campaign. Utilizing archive and exclusive interviews with the people who were there, including Dr. David Brown, dubbed “the father of Viagra,” as well as members of Pfizer’s development and marketing teams, the series gives a behind-the-scenes look into the drug that rewrote the pharmaceutical industry’s playbook and changed sex.

Viagra: The Little Blue Pill That Changed the World is produced for Discovery+ by October Films. Adam Bullmore serves as executive producer for October. For Discovery+, Howard Swartz and Liz Massie are executive producers and Candice Allgood is coordinating producer.
