‘Floored’ doc gets cross-media rollout

James Allen Smith-directed feature doc Floored has Babelgum, UbicMedia, and TraderFilm working together on a global day-and-date mobile, online, and legal progressive download premiere of the film. The doc gives an insider look into Chicago's Mercantile Exchange. This marks the first time a distribution strategy of a feature film has included a global premiere day-and-date on mobile phones, on the Internet, and via hi-definition peer-to-peer (P2P) and legal progressive download. Babelgum will feature the film as an eight-part series, beginning on May 10. At the same time, UbicMedia will release the doc internationally as a paid, HD P2P and legal progressive download. The film will also see limited runs in major cities, and has already broken box office records in Chicago for the Gene Siskel Center. Floored will also have a VOD release on FilmBuff throughout the rest of the year.
