Paula Abdul tweets her departure from American Idol

Months of speculation can now come to an end: American Idol judge Paula Abdul has announced via Twitter that she is indeed leaving the show. In her Twitter posting (or Tweet, in Twitter terminology), she says she will mostly miss 'being a part of a show that I helped from day1 become an international phenomenon.' A statement from Fox Broadcasting, FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment read in part: '...we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she's a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.'
