Looking For

  • UKTV is a British multi-channel broadcaster, owned by BBC Studios made up of seven channels and a video on demand service, UKTV Play. Factual and factual entertainment programming is commissioned on four of those channels: W, Dave, Gold and Yesterday.

W is looking for low cost, returnable factual entertainment and talent-led projects for a female skewing audience. W sits behind a paywall on Sky, Virgin and BT, so distinctive, life-affirming docuseries (no one-offs) with strong EPG appeal are key.

On Dave, noisy, talent-led factual series (no one-offs) that can stand out in the comedy entertainment dominant schedule are of interest. The network is also looking for factual entertainment formats on the early peak of their success, and additional content areas the network is in search of include accessible food, motoring, gadgets, and light engineering concepts, so long as it is delivered through the lens of a Dave program.

Yesterday is looking for returnable, high volume, low cost ob-docs featuring ordinary people with extraordinary passion and skills at its heart. The Yesterday audience loves facts that are wrapped up in an entertaining premise, and authenticity is key, so don’t pitch anything that is too overproduced. Series (no one-offs) you may want to pitch to this network include planes, trains and automobiles, engineering, collectables and historical artefacts.

Gold is the home for British comedy lovers and the network is looking for ideas that elevate the current slate of classic TV shows on the channel. Viewers tune in for talent, much-loved titles and headline grabbing ideas. Content ideas you will want to pitch to the network include authored journeys with key Gold talent, as well as archive or retrospective shows that hero the classic TV programs in unusual ways.
