AAC FACT appoints new general manager; Carlton International names new factual programs exec; and Peppermint announces new CFO.

Patricia Phillips has been named general manager of Toronto, Canada-based AAC FACT, the factual division of Alliance Atlantis Entertainment Group. Phillips was previously VP of AAC FACT.

Some executive changes at U.K.-based Carlton International: acquisitions executive Chris Tidman will assume responsibility for international coproductions and factual programs and Emmanuelle Namiech, currently territory manager for Europe, will be responsible for international coproductions for kids’ programming.

Lars Luck has been appointed to the post of chief financial officer for German distributor Peppermint. Previously, Luck was investment director for the Munich/Milan-based Investment Fund Company. Meanwhile, Stefan Knoblock has been promoted to COO. Knoblock was previously head of sales for the distrib.

Martha Brass has been appointed to the newly created role of COO, Southern Europe, for FremantleMedia‘s international production division, FremantleMedia Production. Brass was formerly commercial director, FremantleMedia Production.

Jeff Clarke has been named president and CEO of KQED public broadcasting in San Francisco, U.S. Clarke is currently CEO and GM of pubcaster KUHT in Houston, U.S. He replaces Mary G.F. Bitterman, who left KQED in February of this year to become president and CEO of The James Irvine Foundation.

Christina Bavetta has been named producer for Arlington, U.S.-based Henninger Productions, the production arm of Henninger Media Services. Bavetta was previously a freelance producer who worked on projects for Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel. Also at Henninger, David Glaser has been named audio designer and mixer at Henninger Capitol, Henninger’s post-production facility in Washington, D.C. Glaser was formerly a freelance sound editor at Team Video International, also in Washington.

Alexa Verveer has been named VP of government relations and public policy for Discovery Communications in Bethesda, U.S. Verveer was previously deputy assistant attorney general, office of justice programs, for the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.

Jayme Lim has been promoted to manager, marketing and licensing for BBC Worldwide Americas in New York from the post of coordinator, licensing and merchandising.

David Epstein has been named senior VP of pricing and operations for Court TV in New York. Also at Court TV, Brad Westermann has been made senior VP of advertising sales for the channel’s regional offices.
