Cardiff, Wales-based prodco Antena has established factual production arm AntenaDocs. Although known for light entertainment, children’s and drama programs, Antena
produced three doc programs prior to founding the new unit: Century of Festival, a six-part series commissioned by the BBC in 2000; The Great Divide, a copro with Toronto-based History Television, completed last year; and Stormy Petrels, which recently aired on S4C.

The founding of AntenaDocs signals a more aggressive move into the global market, and several docs are already in development with international partners. Projects in-the-works include a look at religious fundamentalism, which has pubcaster Thirteen/WNET in New York onboard, and an investigation into the sexual aspects of folk medicine that will be coproduced with Alliance Atlantis in Canada for Discovery.
