September Films hires senior creative director

Popular factual creator Steve Carsey has joined DCD-Media owned September Films. Carsey will join September Films' senior team as creative director, entertainment.

Popular factual creator Steve Carsey has joined DCD-Media owned September Films. Carsey will join September Films’ senior team as creative director, entertainment.

He will report to CCO and acting CEO of DCD Media David Green, who said, ‘Steve’s proven ability to consistently deliver winning concepts across entertainment genres will be key in accelerating September’s and the DCD group’s expansion on both sides of the Atlantic.’

The experienced Carsey was previously creative director at Steadfast Television, where he helped grow the start-up with programs such as Last Chance Driving School for ITV, UK Border Force for Sky One and Championship Gaming Series for Sky One.

His resume also includes a stint as director of programs at Initial, an Endemol-owned content creator, with titles such as The Match, where celebrities formed a soccer team; Run for Glory for BBC One and quiz show The National Lottery’s Millionaire Manor under his belt. He was also head of entertainment at UK prodco Mentorn, where he helped bring shows such as BBC Two and Three’s Robot Wars and Britain’s Worst Driver for Five to air. He also contributed to the reality genre across the pond with the US show Paradise Hotel for Fox, which he greenlit and oversaw the early development on.
