River Monsters reels in most viewers in Animal Planet’s history

Animal Planet's River Monsters has snagged the most viewers for the channel, averaging more than a million households across its seven premiere episodes. The series, which averaged more than 1.4M P2+ viewers, has launched the channel to the fifth place ranking among all non-sports in cable amongst viewers ages 18 to 49. A second season of River Monsters, again to be hosted by angler Jeremy Wade, will launch in spring 2010.
