Madeline Ziniak, national vice president of Canadian multilingual/multicultural television system OMNI, has been appointed to the Order of Canada, the country's highest civilian honor for lifetime achievement. Ziniak was cited for 'her contributions as the major driving force behind the development and growth of multilingual and multicultural television in Canada.' With five television stations (in BC; Alberta and Ontario) OMNI, part of Rogers Broadcasting Limited, has a combined reach to 16.5 million households in major market areas.
