Africa Channel set to premiere ‘The Soul of Ashanti’ and ‘Akwaaba! Ghana Welcomes the Obamas’

During a month of programming dedicated to raising awareness of Ghana, the Africa Channel will be premiering two documentaries, The Soul of Ashanti on September 20, and Akwaaba! Ghana Welcomes The Obamas on October 4. In The Soul of Ashanti, the one-hour doc follows the Ashanti Kingdom's revered Golden Stool from its believed arrival in Ghana in 1695 to present day. The second special, a two-hour doc that partnered the Africa Channel with Ebony & Jet magazines, covers President Barack Obama's historic journey to Ghana in his first trip to sub-Saharan Africa.
