‘Afghan Star’ prodco moves on to ‘The Candidate’

Digital Rights Group will launch a new title from UK's Roast Beef Productions, makers of award-winning doc Afghan Star, at MIPCOM. The Candidate, produced in association with Afghanistan-based Kaboora Productions, follows the campaigns of three candidates to become Afghanistan's next president.

Digital Rights Group will launch a new title from UK’s Roast Beef Productions, makers of award-winning doc Afghan Star, at MIPCOM. The Candidate, produced in association with Afghanistan-based Kaboora Productions, follows the campaigns of three candidates aiming to become Afghanistan’s next president.
DRG will also have a raft of new factual titles under the C4i brand at MIPCOM, including doc The Continuing Adventures of a Boy Called Alex, 21st Century Destroyer and makeover series Your Place or Mine.

Andrew Tracy joined Realscreen as associate editor in 2021, following 17 years as managing editor of the award-winning international film magazine Cinema Scope. From 2010 to 2020 he also held the position of senior editor at the Toronto International Film Festival, where he oversaw the flagship publication for the organization’s year-round Cinematheque programming and edited its first original monograph in a decade, Steve Gravestock’s A History of Icelandic Film.
