KinoSmith acquires ‘Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel’

Indie Canadian distributor KinoSmith Inc has acquired Canadian rights, excluding broadcast, to Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel, directed by Oscar-winning director/producer Brigitte Berman. The doc, which created buzz at TIFF, shows the Playboy magazine founder in a different light, showing his activist side. Plans are underway to release the film in theaters in the spring of 2010.

Indie Canadian distributor KinoSmith Inc has acquired Canadian rights, excluding broadcast, to Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel, directed by Oscar-winning director/producer Brigitte Berman. The doc, which created buzz at TIFF, shows the Playboy magazine founder in a different light, showing his activist side. Plans are underway to release the film in theaters in the spring of 2010.

Andrew Tracy joined Realscreen as associate editor in 2021, following 17 years as managing editor of the award-winning international film magazine Cinema Scope.
