ITV and Hunan TV form format partnership

International indie prodco ITV Studios and Chinese satellite broadcaster Hunan Television today announced a deal which will see the two companies develop and license a series of unscripted formats for broadcast on Hunan TV. Under the agreement the two companies will co-develop, co-create and co-own the formats while Hunan TV will air the programming in primetime starting this year and ITV Studios will represent the worldwide rights for the finished programs and formats outside of China. Hunan TV reaches 58 million viewers domestically and it will license multiple formats over three years.
